ABOUT OUR CHALET
This cosy and stylishly renovated chalet is situated in Braunwald, in the Swiss Alps in the Canton of Glarus. The chalet sits at an altitude of 1350 metres and enjoys breathtaking views over Glarus Alps, including views on Braunwald’s local mountain, the “Ortstock”.
From the chalet you can walk to the ski lifts and explore the family friendly skiing and hiking area. The chalet comfortably accommodates 12 persons, spread over 5 bedrooms, with 4 bathrooms. It has a fully equipped kitchen, cosy living room with fire place, a sunny balcony and garden, and wireless internet.
The chalet is ideal for one or two families and has several children’s facilities, such as a baby bed and high chair.

WHERE WE ARE
The chalet is situated 100 metres above the train station of Braunwald and 100 metres below the Mattwald ski lift, which gives you access to the whole skiing area of Braunwald. Close to the chalet (8 minutes walking) you can also find a small supermarket (the Lädeli in Schwettiberg) where you can buy the most relevant foods & beverages.
In summertime you can start several beautiful hikes directly from the chalet.

GETTING HERE
To get to Braunwald, you need to take a small train (the Braunwald funicular) from the valley in Linthal. In Linthal you park your car next to the train station and load your luggage very easily on the train. The Braunwald funicular will bring you in only 7 minutes up the mountain. Arriving in Braunwald you can step directly from the train into a taxi of Schuler transport, which will bring you and all your luggage to chalet Heidi in less than 10 minutes.
The trip from the valley of Linthal up to the chalet is a memorable experience on its own!
All relevant information about your arrival to Braunwald
By car
Linthal is located 90 km South-East from Zurich and its airport. The journey by car takes approximately 1.15 hours. From Zurich, take the A3 in the direction of Chur. On the A3 take exit 44 in direction of Glarus. Once you have passed the city of Glarus it’s only another 17 km to the village of Linthal, where you can park your car at the parking lot of the train station.
By train
The train system in Switzerland is extremely efficient. The train journey from Zurich to Linthal requires only one change.
Flying
Zurich is the nearest international airport, serviced by most major carriers.
